Meet Coach Ali Al-khatib

I began my soccer journey at the age of 10 overseas, in the Hashemite Kingdom of Jordan. Playing barefoot in the streets on a daily basis with no other hobbies, I had no choice but to become obsessed with the beautiful game. As time flew by my high-school and collegiate careers came to an end like a blink of an eye. Coaching various age groups I learned that there is no limit to the amount of knowledge and experience I could gain and give going forward. Earning my role and time on the field took plenty of effort, dedication and time. I look forward to teaching young student-athletes how to learn from their past mistakes, live in the present, and love the game as if there is no tomorrow.

Credentials

Experience

My experiences at Midview High School (Assistant Coach), Hiram College (two Internships), and as a driven and ambitious student-athlete have equipped me with the experience needed to help other on the field. My experiences allowed me to get a better understanding of what to expect and what is expected of me as a coach (I'm more than just a coach!). The availability and consideration of resources, peer-aid, respectful communication and critical thinking allowed me to progress and grow on and off the field.

Mindset plays role in the success of many individuals and I strive to continue to take care of my mental and physical health in order to promote the same in the studentt-athletes I work with. I have always loved to solve issues by observing, collaborating, and being open-minded which is why I minored in Psychology and Educational Studies.

My academic development at a diverse Liberal Arts College gives me the confidence to interact with others, teach others, and continue learning from those around me. Collaboration is a priority value of mine; I stand by that we as humans must interact and collaborate with one another and to love doing so in a positive manner, especially in diverse environments.
